Managing IP Ranks Three Brinks Gilson & Lione Offices, Recognizes Eleven Attorneys as IP Stars

CHICAGO—For the fourth consecutive year, Managing Intellectual Property, publisher of the annual comprehensive legal directory IP STARS, has accorded a Highly Recommended ranking to the Illinois office of intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione, and a Recommended ranking to the firm’s office in North Carolina. Managing IP also ranked Brinks’ office in Ann Arbor, Mich., office as Recommended.

The publication again recognized Brinks Gilson & Lione in the areas of Copyright, Patent Contentious, Patent Filing and Prosecution, Trademark Contentious, and Trademark Filing and Prosecution, noting that the firm’s “work in the patent litigation realm is recognized at the national level, as is the counseling and patent prosecution work on behalf of clients” in diverse industries.

Based on feedback from peers and clients, Managing IP additionally recognized eleven Brinks attorneys as outstanding IP practitioners in its IP Stars list.

Brinks president James R. Sobieraj was named a Patent Star and Trademark Star, along with fellow Chicago-based attorneys William H. Frankel and Brad Lane. Eric C. Cohen of Brinks’ Research Triangle Park, N.C., office, Alejandro (Alex) Fernandez of the firm’s Tampa, Fla., office, and Steven L. Oberholtzer of Brinks’ Ann Arbor, Mich., office were also named Patent and Trademark Stars.
