Brinks Gilson & Lione Attorneys Marshall, Buschmann Named to Super Lawyers Mountain States for 2015
July 02, 2015

SALT LAKE CITYRyan L. Marshall and Craig Buschmann, attorneys in the Salt Lake City office of Brinks Gilson & Lione, have again been included in the 2015 Super Lawyers Mountain States list, the rating service's annual regional listing of outstanding attorneys.

Ryan Marshall, a patent attorney and the managing shareholder of Brinks' Salt Lake City office, has been accorded Super Lawyer status for the third year in a row in the area of intellectual property law, following four successive years as a Rising Star.

Marshall is deeply knowledgeable about the intricacies of patent prosecution and litigation, and the complexities of inventions in the chemical arts. His practice is primarily focused on companies that explore new technologies in biotechnology, biochemistry and pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and sustainable energy. Marshall’s experience in the courtroom and in working with examiners at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office allows him to offer valuable insights to his clients, guiding them through complex proceedings and better positioning them for successful prosecution and litigation.

Craig Buschmann, of counsel at Brinks, has been named a Rising Star in intellectual property law for the sixth consecutive year. The Rising Stars category recognizes top up-and-coming attorneys who are 40 years old or younger, or have been practicing for 10 years or fewer.  Buschmann co-chairs Brinks' chemical, energy and agriculture practice. He advises clients on how to best protect and exploit their intellectual property, and drafts and guides clients’ patent and trademark applications through the USPTO and its international counterparts. He also participates in complex patent, trademark, and licensing litigation. Buschmann is experienced with mechanical and electromechanical technologies in oil and gas exploration and processing, and in the aerospace, automotive, sporting goods, medical devices, semiconductors, and semiconductor packaging sectors.

Super Lawyers identifies outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, using a patented, multiphase selection process that includes creating a candidate pool, evaluating candidates, and peer evaluation by practice area. Each year, Super Lawyers' research team selects no more than five percent of the lawyers in a state to receive this honor; no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.
