Thirteen Attorneys at Intellectual Property Law Firm Brinks Gilson & Lione Listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2016
Three Shareholders Named "Lawyer of the Year" in Respective Categories

CHICAGO—Thirteen attorneys at Brinks Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, were recently listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2016. 

Eleven of the honored attorneys are based in Brinks' Chicago office, one is in Ann Arbor, Mich., and one is in Research Triangle Park, N.C. (RTP). They are:

Three Brinks attorneys received ”Lawyer of the Year” recognition for their practice areas: 

Allen R. Baum was named the Best Lawyers 2016 Biotechnology Law "Lawyer of the Year" in Raleigh. Baum is managing shareholder of Brink's office in Research Triangle Park and co-chair of its chemicals, energy and agriculture practice group. He has more than 20 years of experience as a patent attorney, and previously worked as a chemist in the pharmaceutical industry.

William H. Frankel was named the Best Lawyers 2016 Copyright Law "Lawyer of the Year" in Chicago. Frankel has practiced intellectual property law for 35 years and chairs Brinks' copyright practice group. He has written and spoken extensively on topics in intellectual property law, and is active in Lawyers for the Creative Arts, a pro bono legal service organization, including serving as president for five years.

Steven L. Oberholtzer was named the Best Lawyers 2016 Patent Law "Lawyer of the Year" in Ann Arbor. He has nearly 35 years of experience as an intellectual property attorney, and has particular expertise in intellectual property legal issues related to the automotive industry. Oberholtzer is managing shareholder of Brinks' Ann Arbor office.
