Euromoney Names Four Brinks Attorneys to 2013 Expert Guide to the World's Leading Patent Law Practitioners

Sobieraj, four stand-out attorneys and shareholders at intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione, have been selected for inclusion in Euromoney PLC's 2013 Expert Guide to the World’s Leading Patent Law Practitioners, part of Legal Media Group's Expert Guides.

William Frankel, who currently chairs Brinks' copyright practice, provides legal expertise to clients in worldwide patent protection and the coordination of legal strategies in global IP disputes. Mr. Frankel has represented clients in federal courts, before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, before the International Trade Commission, and in alternative dispute resolution forums in connection with injunction, trial, contempt, and appellate proceedings.

Ralph Gabric is chair of the litigation practice at Brinks; he focuses on high-stakes patent litigation and related antitrust matters. With over two decades of trial experience, Mr. Gabric has substantial first- and second-chair responsibilities in bench and jury trials. He has lectured on the subjects of patent litigation, ethics, and patent licensing and written about trade dress protection and dispute resolution.

Gary Ropski is a trial and appellate lawyer with 35 years of experience in intellectual property law; he has participated in more than 100 cases, including several jury trials. He currently focuses his practice on high-stakes patent litigation, on acting as a court-appointed Special Master in intellectual property cases, and in arbitration and mediation matters where his extensive and varied experience allows him to bring special insights to efforts to resolve disputes. Mr. Ropski served as president of Brinks from 2006-2011.

James Sobieraj is a licensed patent attorney with 30 years of experience in the enforcement, licensing and procurement of intellectual property rights. He has been lead counsel in lawsuits involving patent infringement, ownership of patent rights, license disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, trade dress infringement, unfair competition, false advertising, fraud, antitrust, breach of contract and other commercial litigation. Mr. Sobieraj is the current president of Brinks Gilson & Lione.
