Chambers USA Bestows Highest Designation in IP Law to Brinks Gilson & Lione, Four Attorneys Also Praised

CHICAGOChambers USA, an annual guide to the world's best lawyers and law firms, has elevated intellectual property law firm Brinks Gilson & Lione to Band 1 for IP law firms in Illinois, its highest designation.

Four individual Brinks attorneys were also recognized by Chambers USA. Internationally respected trademark attorney Jerome Gilson was again named a Senior Statesman by virtue of his depth of knowledge and his pivotal role with major clients and his pivotal role in the firm's success. Brinks' immediate past-president Gary M. Ropski ranked in Band 1, while shareholders William H. Frankel, chair of the firm's copyright group, ranked in Band 3, and Laura Beth Miller, a member of the firm's board of directors and its executive committee, ranked in Band 4 for intellectual property law in Illinois.
The Chambers annual ranking is based on information gathered from interviews with clients and peers and an assessment of recently completed deals and cases. Its evaluation of Brinks, one of the largest IP law firms in the United States, focused on qualities such as technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, and commercial astuteness. Rankings of individual lawyers were based on legal knowledge, effectiveness, and client service.
