Brinks Attorneys Sobieraj and Baum Named Leading Intellectual Property Strategists by Intellectual Asset Management
July 16, 2012

CHICAGO - Brinks attorneys James R. Sobieraj and Allen R. Baum have again been listed by Intellectual Asset Management magazine in IAM Strategy 300 – The World’s Leading IP Strategists (4th. ed.), a reference guide for senior in-house intellectual property managers that lists “individuals who offer IP owners world-class services related to the development and implementation of strategies that enable IP owners to maximize the value of their rights portfolios.”

Each individual recognized in IAM Strategy 300 was nominated by at least three intellectual property law professionals, and each was chosen because they have “exceptional skill sets, as well as profound insights into the development, creation and management of IP value.” To qualify for inclusion, an individual could not be employed by an operating company.

James R. Sobieraj is president of Brinks and a licensed patent attorney with 30 years of experience in the enforcement, licensing and procurement of intellectual property rights. He has been lead counsel in numerous lawsuits involving patent infringement, ownership of patent rights, license disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, trade dress infringement, unfair competition, false advertising, fraud, antitrust, breach of contract and other commercial litigation. His litigation experience includes bench and jury trials, temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, Markman hearings, appeals, arbitrations and mediations.

Mr. Sobieraj has represented companies in a variety of technologies including analog and digital electronics, telecommunications, microprocessors, software, the Web, electromechanical transducers and control circuits, medical devices, hydraulics, automotive components, and various consumer goods.

Mr. Sobieraj is a past president of the Licensing Executives Society (LES, USA & Canada), and currently serves as treasurer and counsel to the board of the LES International. He is a past president of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2004 and the IP Hall of Fame Academy in 2007.
